Ladies and gents, I have a confession: I have a shoe fetish.
Okay, that was a bit dramatic. And the word “fetish” may be taking your imagination into realms I did not intend. What I meant to say was I love shoes. You can call it a mild obsession. The first thing I browse in a store are shoes. I’m a size 6 (if anyone cares) and I’ve bought 6 pairs of shoes in the 6 weeks that I’ve been in New York. I can’t help it. It’s what happens when you move to a new city and can bring only a very select set of 5 pairs to last you for all eternity. (/dramatic)
As part of my 101 in 1,001 — I want to own 100 pairs of shoes and document it. I think the count may be in the upper sixties right now, but most of my collection is still back at home in Houston.

First to be featured are these faux suede green pumps from H&M. These were the very first pair of shoes I bought in New York City. I’ve worn them all over the streets and they are surprisingly resilient to dirt and grime. I’ve even trekked in a thunderstorm with them on and they’ve managed to hold up just fine. And for only $24.95!

I also derive ridiculous joy from photographing shoes. I may have to realign my career and become a professional shoe photographer. I’m not even joking.
